Claymont Society Album

Claymont has been the most wonderful place to WWOOF!
It has so much to offer:
a blossoming garden/CSA, enlightening retreat business,
uplifting community, captivating philosophy,
rich history and more!
What a blessing to participate!

Of interest is an excerpt from the book
\”Deep Gardening: Soul Lessons from 17 Gardens,\”
by Woody Wodraska,
who attended Claymont in the late 70s
and was taught by Pierre Elliot.

A Meditation, Practice

We meet each morning
all together in circle
to check in with ourselves
(through ten minutes of silence)
and to check in with one another
(by sharing our experience).

Then we set an intention for the day
to be carried out through
our practice, and our plans.

We practice relaxation
in body, mind and emotion.
Often this is based on teachings
from john g. bennett or gurdjieff
as this is the lineage
of our community coming to be.

In the body: we focus on a place of tension,
breathe, and send the breath there
to melt strain and disperse said pressures.

In our emotion: we focus the breath in our heart center,
to sense its tone, and allow the breath to purify what is there
with our awareness of it.

In the mind: this is the hardest place to find rest.
by breathing into the present moment,
and labeling our thinking, \”Thoughts.\”
We transcend them and find Now.

We break at each half hour,
close our eyes
for several breaths:
a simple reminder
to be.

teachings

theo – scholar and shaman – spoke to us
in the library at the mansion
he brought shifting visions of south america.
a people uniting form and energy
in their unexplainable structures, and sustainable inventions
3,000 different potatoes.

the source – our creator – is wisdom, power and love.
in each thing that the creator creates
in each thing that comes from source
leaping out of the universe, into the universe
each thing has the creator in it
everything made, is made of him
so that he is not separate from his creation.

everything manifest – all that is – is our brother and sister
even the earth is our sister
she so old, that we call her mother.
everything here created equal.
and in equal relation with everything else
even to ourselves, we have a relationship.

relating is reciprocity
one must give in order to take
one must exhale in order to inhale

the more we unite
the more divinity we embrace
bringing back oneness
as we come together

from outer space
the earth has no borders

organic life, not just food

1 of, relating to, or derived from living matter
2 denoting a relation between elements of something such that they fit together harmoniously as necessary parts of a whole, characterized by continuous or natural development

1 organic matter LIVING, live, animate, biological, biotic.
2 organic vegetables PESTICIDE-FREE, additive-free, natural.
3 the love scenes were an organic part of the drama ESSENTIAL, fundamental, integral, intrinsic, vital, indispensable, inherent.
4 a society is an organic whole STRUCTURED, organized, coherent, integrated, coordinated, ordered, harmonious.

GUARD-er SNAKES

We met these \”cutie petuties\” at the entrance to Aunt Jan\’s house.
They were soaking up the sun from atop the bushes at the front door.
What a greeting!
Officially, garter snakes.
There were two on each side as we approached,
but one scurried down into the safety of the bush,
while the others remained perched
perfectly still.
When we left,
there were three in one bush and two in the other!
Of course, the shy guy slid away once again.
I bet they are all siblings!
How wonderful!

Molly Bing Goes Green.

This cat has been DYING to pay tribute
to daddio\’s St. Patrick\’s Day of birth.
And with a \”Kool\” aid, her dreams have become reality!
(FYI: Kool-aid does not come in green. This is a very special brew.)

Not only is green appropriate, given the holiday celebrations,
but this color also shows how Molly B. is hip to the times:
She is earth friendly,
biodegradable, and a herbivore.
And you may not know this, but she has garlic breath
(like her mommy).
So here\’s – CHEERS! – to you!
Happy Birthday Daddy!
From the green footed puss.
